Advice/options for recruitment in the spring for summer internships

Afternoon everyone,

I was hoping for advice moving forward. I, unfortunately, was unable to land an internship for this coming summer at one of the big consulting firms. I am now pivoting towards exploring other options. I was hoping people could provide some ideas and suggestions that would be available in the Spring to pursue. My goal would be to, in order of priority, a) gain a meaningful and educational internship experience and b) set myself up in the future for full-time recruitment in the fall of 2018 and c) ideally be involved with consulting work. If there are resources that people know of or specific firms that recruit in the Spring I would love to hear about it!

A little about me: Current junior at target school studying economics Low GPA: 3.3 Balanced and strong extracurriculars, captain/president in a number of them 2.5 years as a military officer previous work experience: Group research at a large bank, commercial real estate at a large international real estate firm (both of these were overseas)

Firms I applied at but didn't receive an offer: BCG (final round) Accenture Strat. (final round) McKinsey (1st round) Bain (no interview) OW (still processing?) LEK (no interview)

Not too familiar with Spring recruitment but I think reaching out to Seniors at your school and alumni might give a nice perspective on the opportunities available. This will also allow you to network a bit more for FT Recruitment.

Please note you got some pretty great interviews already so try to keep in touch so those companies invite you back for FT interviews. Best of luck.
