American going to a foreign university looking to break into US Consulting
First post on this forum, but have lurked quite a bit. I have looked through past posts on the question I am about to ask but the info is limited.
I am an American who goes to a top UK university (this is for undergrad, not grad school), but its not Oxbridge or LSE. You could consider it one of the semi-targets (think Warwick, Durham, etc.). The big consultancies come here for on-campus interviews, so there is quite a bit of exposure...but they obviously recruit for the London office. I'd like to get back to the US asap upon graduation. So my question is two-fold...
-Should I bother applying to US offices, knowing that I will not have the advantage of on campus recruiting for said offices? -If I go through with the on-campus interview process for a firm like OW...would it be possible to request a US office, even though they are recruiting for their London office?
I am not dying to work at MBB, and am more than happy looking along the lines of Booz, OW, etc.
Any comments are greatly appreciated!
tough but not impossible
better go to london first then transfer to us
How realistic are transfers from a London office to something stateside? Would it have to be done after 2 years, or could it be done before?
st. andrews?
No. Not Scottish. Don't really want to be more specific, but one of:
Nottingham Durham Bristol York
Any other suggestions?
