Ankura turnaround and restructuring

Good afternoon,

I have seen some of the previous posts related to deal flow and culture, pay, etc. from a year or two ago. I wanted to post this for an updated look at Ankura’s t&r group. Any insights for someone looking for a possible sr asso position would be appreciated, thank you

Thanks for responding, what type of work would a sr asso be working on? Are the sr asso more involved in the weeds or is it more of a coaching of more Jr employees and learning how to be a good director/vp?

Definitely in the weeds. You’d be responsible for the modeling, all of the low to mid level nuanced financial analyses, operational tasks and court-reporting tasks. The next level (director) is the level at which you begin to coach. Restructuring is so niche and so nuanced that it really takes a few years to get the hang of it. For that reason, the SAs are in the weeds but fully driving work products, whereas Associates typically do not fully drive a model / work product.
