I got rejected for APD today. So, I don't know, maybe no news is good news for the rest of you all?
I heard one friend who attended this year insight program got an interview invitation. But I haven't gotten anything from McKinsy yet.
Well I do not know if their reply to me was a rejection but they said because I graduate from my PhD program in 2020 (Jan 2020) they cannot consider my application for this year and that they encourage me to re-apply closer to my graduation date. To clarify, I applied as Experienced Professional given that I have a masters degree and 4 years of experience in the Auto industry. But because I am pursuing a PhD and working full time it was kinda a special situation as it is a mix between Advanced Degree and Experienced Professional. I guess I will wait till next year and apply for the insight program.
Oh, yeah, I had the reverse problem. I finished my postdoc in June, so they've all decided I count as an experienced hire, not APD. And no one wants me as an experienced hire because, uh, I don't actually have any experience in a specific industry? Am probably going to try for some second tier places that might be less rigid about what recruiting track PhDs fall into (OW, S&, LEK?)
