Berkeley Research Group Restructuring SA 2026

Anyone else here apply to BRG RX Boston? I had my round one this past week, and was wondering if anyone has any updates/knows a timeline on the process, or any info on BRG's program. Thanks!

I ended up accepting. For me personally, this was exactly where I wanted to be from a culture and career progression perspective. If you are debating because you want to be in RX and don’t care about anything else, I think BRG is one of the best places to be. If you are simply interested in what will offer the most “prestige”, I would say that the big 3 or generalist MM IB still offer more of what you’re looking for (for now). BRG is much younger than pretty much any other firm in RX space but seem to be pulling in top talent from other firms(especially FTI). They also consistently place 4th in league tables and run much leaner teams than big 3. If you really have no interest in RX consulting and just want to use as launch pad to RX IB, then MM IB and big 3 are your best bet. Just trying to provide some insights from what I’ve gathered so far. Totally just depends on your long term goals but I would say you’d be stupid not to accept if you’re really interested in the RX space.

I ended up taking the RX gig. I think it would be stupid of me to have an opportunity to get a foot in the RX industry and not take it. Thinking about it from a paycheck perspective, money will always come, especially being in the RX industry. If I want to change firms and go to A&M or Alix later on, it won’t be difficult to do so. I talked to many mentors and they all suggested to take BRG based on the fact that it will probably more difficult to get into this niche later on. I also loved the culture and RX work is the best way to understand how a company operates from the inside out. Also, BRG has come top 4 in league tables since 2020 and consistently brings on new talent from Big 3 RX firms. They also dominate the retail and healthcare spaces, and also manage to grab massive UCC mandates in the software and industrials spaces. The hours are also pretty solid comparatively, with the average being around 60-70 (from what I’ve been told). I also think the boutique nature + large mandates will give me alot of exposure to the entire process, and, therefore, learn the most and stand out.
