Big 4 Offer taking a long time

Wondering if anyone else has had an issue with an formal offer from a Big4 taking a long time to come through. I got a verbal for a Senior Consultant position from a Big4 the last week of July. They came back to me less than 24 hours after my superday stating that they wish to give me an offer. HR said it would take about a week for them to turn around the formal offer letter.

It is now September and I still do not have a formal offer. The company has been in constant contact with me every week updating me on the status of it. Seems to be some hold up between their end of year being in July & it being the summer. I'm getting rather skeptical as to whether the offer will come through. Curious to see if anyone else has had a similar experience. Thanks!

No personal experience, but it seems that the constant updates are a good sign. I'd be worried if it were radio silence. Are there other opportunities you're missing out on because of the pending offer?

I'm in the same exact situation at you. Just got a call that everything went through. Big4 sometimes take time. Nothing is wrong, don't worry.

Thanks for the input. I thought it was a bit odd considering they called me 24 hours later & its now been over a month for the formal letter.
