Consulting Off-Cycle Hiring

Hi,

I know MBB probably do little to no off cycle hiring but do some of the second tier consulting firms do much off-cycle hiring? I am talking about the Accentures, etc. I am in a project oriented job that I could relate to consulting and would be very interested in these opportunities. I know it is hard to give a definitive statement but would be curious to hear peoples' experiences with consulting off-cycle hires at the entry level. Thanks.

I wouldn't put too much stock in hiring cycles.

1 - There's always people looking to get off the road and not do travel. ALL consulting companies are always looking for people to do travel engagements

2 - If you have a relatively unique skill set then you might catch someone's attention. Consulting companies always have money falling at their feet that they can't pick up because they can't staff it. If you have something unique on the resume then you might just luck yourself into a scenario where they need you.

Thanks for the response. I try not to put too much stock in hiring cycles, but at least on the finance side it does seem pretty structured. Maybe consulting is different, I appreciate the input.
