Current sophomore overwhelmed by recruiting and looking for advice

Hey everyone- Just before I start I want to mention that I am a sophomore at a semi-target/target school (in which I transferred from a state school) with an alright GPA and am actively looking for an internship this summer 2020. I know I am still early but most of my friends at school are juniors and are mostly interested in IB (besides the consulting group, our school does not really send kids to CO in comparison to IB). I've been getting a vast of different answers through online search and advisor meetings but was wondering what I can do my sophomore summer to get me ready for junior year? I'm not really into IB but I applied to some PWM internships like most finance kids do and am currently looking at some boutiques in the city as well as back in my country. Am I too late, also what should I be gunning for?

I appreciate you guys reading this!
