deferred MBA
Hello! I am a senior who interned at MBB this summer and will return as a full-time next year. I am thinking about applying for deferred MBA programs. 3.9+ GPA, has not taken the GMAT yet but got 1580 on the SAT. I have pretty interesting and unique internships but do not have strong ECs - do MBA admissions look at those? also, wondering what GMAT scores do I need to have a shot at HSW?
I am thinking about trying either round 2 or round 3, any suggestions? if I got rejected, will it hurt my chances when I re-apply in the future? THANK YOU!
FYI: East Asian female
Are you a STEM major with technical experience? That's really who those programs are designed for, and anyone from MBB who gets in is a rare exception, almost always with a hook. Is it impossible? No. Will your odds be way better after a few years at MBB? Almost certainly.
i am not! but i am seeing quite a lot of LinkedIn posts where Econ majors who interned at MBB got admitted to deferred MBA programs haha
I take it back, did some more research: it does kind of seem like a random lottery for some few MBB kids from LinkedIn viewing, maybe give it a shot if you have a little extra time and it won't ruin your senior year.
