Get instant access to lessons taught by experienced private equity pros and bulge bracket investment bankers including financial statement modeling, DCF, M&A, LBO, Comps and Excel Modeling.
You’ll have a shot at consulting from both, so where do you want be? If NY, Cornell. If Chicago, Northwestern.
Though if you decide you want to do banking down the line, Cornell would be better.
Is the money the same? Is there a specific school experience you want to have?
.
If you're indifferent to price and just about every other factor, I think I would lean Cornell AEM. It's more selective and gives you access to things Northwestern doesn't/won't have as much of (brand management, audit, investment banking, etc.) since you would have a "true business background"
I had a friend in a similar scenario. If you really love both schools, you could always do Dyson undergrad and gun for a Kellogg MBA?
.
tbh I think Northwestern will be a much more fun experience, even though Cornell will be marginally more prestigious. Outcomes for consulting are nearly identical
Cornell is not more prestigious, it's barely a top 20 school at this point.
Outcomes for consulting are definitely in NU's favor. Cornell is not a target for all MBB firms and some T2s whereas NU is a heavy target for all
.
This is correct. Some of MBB started OCR at Cornell and this is only relatively recent.
Northwestern is one of the biggest target schools for consulting without question
x2, NU sends boatloads every year

.
Truth. And you aren't really limited by location either - plenty of NU grads recruit into NYC consulting roles
