Dishonest Application

Made a huge, glaring mistake. I applied to a MBB and when asked about my SAT score I put down what I thought I got. I couldn't remember the exact breakdown as I took it almost a decade ago and didn't remember my college board credentials or have a saved file of the test. I thought that I got a 6X0 on math but in reality I got a 6X0 - 10. On this firm's application form, I was not asked to list a specific number, but a range. This incorrect score was in a different range than my real score. I am afraid that they will think that I was trying to dishonestly say that I scored in the 700s. I am now at the final round of the process. If I were to get past the final round would this be a deal breaker? If so, what should I do to alleviate this honest mistake?

Every single other piece of info that I've provided on my CV and cover letter is absolutely verifiable by data/reference but this one stupid mistake.

Be honest and contact HR about it. It was a simple mistake, and not a really big deal considering the minute difference. Besides, if you've made it to the final round, they clearly like you already. Letting them find out on their own would be the bigger mistake.

Realistically, I'd just leave it alone and not do anything. I don't think it's something they'd bother background checking. You don't want to raise red flags you don't have to. If you raise it now, they might think you put the wrong score on purpose, and are trying to change it not because you're scared you'll get caught.

I agree. I would just leave it alone as well. I don't think they will check...
