Economic consulting vs. boutique strategy consulting

I am considering offers between a top economic consulting firm (NERA, Analysis Group, etc.) and a boutique strategy consulting company. Any recommendations?

Criteria: 1) Changing over to MBB 2) MBA placement 3) Developing transferrable skills that are as versatile as possible (if I don't know what I want to do after and want to set myself up for as many possibilities as possible).

Thanks!

Be very careful with smaller consulting shops is all I will say. Anecdotally I've heard many more bad things than good. That's not to say that you shouldn't go that route if you've done your research and feel comfortable with the place - just fair warning.

I think both would be viewed as solid for b-school. Not sure about direct lateralling, which may be tougher.
