Recruiting last fall wasn't that bad, the office I will be at took more undergrads than I thought they would. Anyway, IMO, consulting firms always need a stream of fresh bodies, since their asset base is their people.

Subprime hasn't hurt as much, since consulting firms don't have financial exposure to MBS or credit markets. A general economic downturn will affect things to some extent, but consulting is also a bit countercyclical as the number of "Bob" engagements will increase.

I would surmise that MBB will be recruiting at relatively the same levels as always, as MBB will probably get the most work in an economic downturn.
