Headhunters / Recruiters for Strat / Mgmt Consulting (UK)

Hi fellow monkeys - as per the title.

I currently work in M&A and looking to make a move to consulting (also got a mate looking to move into consulting from industry). But the issue is, we both have little experience on how the job market operates in consulting ie whether you use recruiters or whether applying online via firm websites actually works

For comparison, banking almost always requires a recruiter given the stupid amount of applications per vacancy, however after googling, I haven't been able to come across any recruiters for consulting and so just wanted to confirm what the correct approach to take is - last thing I want to do, is to apply online only to find out a head hunter is also running a mandate for the same role.

I would be grateful for any advice on this and if possible, any names of recruiters / how to best lateral.

Thanks in advance for anything that you can share!

As far as I know, everyone at my MBB in London just applied through the website. Never heard of anyone using a recruiter of any sort (though it's it's not like I asked every single person that specific question).

As far as I know. we don't use them. Our big filters are usually CV screen + online test, and then the R1 interviews are again pretty selective.

If you want to hop into consulting (at least for MBB), best bet is to case prep, maybe reach out to some peeps in the industry to chat (although this will mostly be informational), and then apply when you're ready. For experienced hires we recruit on a rolling basis.
