Hong Kong Consulting Salaries? Do they pay global?

Hey guys, title says all.

Do MBB and the other big guys pay the same (or very very similar) as their offices in NY? This is for first years out of college.

I hear MBB in the Mainland sucks pay-wise. Curious if HK is different.

The pay for BA/AC/AS is ~$45k base, plus larger performance-based bonus (similar to buckets), as well as a cash bonus on top as a % of your combined pay (base + performance bonus).

Keep in mind with the lower tax of HK (15% flat tax with high exemptions), the $45k base in HK after-tax works out to about $59k in NYC, and with the cash bonus (not counting performance), it's equivalent to a pre-tax income of $65-70k in NYC, which is not too bad. Then you have the performance bonus of up to 30% of your base, which is higher than what NYC usually pays out in bonuses, and it ends up being pretty similar. However, the higher performance bonus won't kick in for the 1st 6 months (join in July, that first December you won't get the full bonus pro-rated to 6 months), so you need to wait a year before it equalizes.
