IB to Consulting in less than a year?

Hey Everyone,

I started my first year analyst gig at a MM IB a month ago and it's going well so far. Hours are very chill but I know they will pick up soon. However, after my summer internship last year, I realized IB wasn't for me and I am more interested in pursuing a consulting gig. Ultimately I see myself in PE or C-Suite so I could stay in IB, but feel like Consulting will be more interesting/intellectually stimulating. I looked into recruiting for Consulting full-time after my internship but didn't really have luck so I just recruited for another bank and started there.

However, I do want to make the switch and was wondering if it was possible to switch to consulting after a year or less? If so what is the process? I have tried networking but it is a lot less common than in IB it seems and harder to get through the door. I've got great work experience in Corp Dev/Strategy at a tech firm, at a pretty decent MM IB, but went to a semi-target and have a 3.5. So I am not sure I stand out on paper. What strategy would you guys recommend I take to get into consulting.

btw, I know that I will likely have to start as a 1st year Business Analyst, but I am okay with that and think it's worth it given my aspirations.
