Indians at Mckinsey/BCG
Hey guys,
Sort of random question here. I have heard a bunch of anecdotal reports that senior leadership at Mckinsey/BCG US (particularly NYC) has a lot of Indians as the senior partners/heads of important practices. Specifically, Indian immigrants. I wanted to 1- confirm if there are unusually high amounts of Indians in these firms and 2- ask for any reasons as to why they congregated to consulting specifically. While Indians do well in finance, my impression is this is more pronounced in consulting. I understand that America gets the cream of the crop indians so this isn't a question about diversity/affirmative action etc.
Curious to hear thoughts and open to being told that I am just totally wrong, just looking for info.
because there are more IT jobs in consulting
Sorry, I don't follow... do you mean they are part of the digital practices? If you mean for back office roles, the anecdotes I have heard refer to FO roles. Practices like FS, chemicals etc
Maybe it's just because India has the second largest group of English speaking population after the USofA.
This doesn't really answer my question as to why is it more pronounced in consulting? I understand that Indian immigrants generally do well because of the immigrants are well educated/speak English but my question relates to the specifics of consulting.
