Internship Offer Rescind?

Recently got an advisory internship offer in the Big 4. GPA was a 3.5 at time of application.

Looks like I will be failing one class (with As in everything else), dropping my GPA to a 3.4. I know the drop isn't as big, but will the F cause them to rescind the offer?

I will be retaking it before the start of the internship, but the final grade may not be out.

Actually, I've had a few people at my school get offers rescinded from big 4 cuz they got a C in a core accounting class (they were audit). So it depends on the class and how relevant to your role it is. I wouldn't bring it up with them, but I'd definitely have a very good story prepared for when they find out.

I assume you are an undergrad?

In addition to what people have already mentioned, try talking to the professor who decides the final grade. What was the reason for your F? If you just mightily struggled with the class, it is possible to negotiate with your professor to bump the F up a little bit. If it was due to cheating etc, then it probably wont work

It was just a class I struggled in, and happened to do poorly, and the professor doesn't make any exceptions. Lets say can pull of an A when I retake it - shouldn't that mitigate any concerns they might have at the time I submit my transcript?
