Internships outweigh GPA for Big 4?
Going to be graduating in 2017 and a little worried about my gpa as it went from a 3.55 to 3.4. I'm a finance major at Penn State. I know big 4 consulting can filter at 3.5 gpa. However Ive had two really good internships being in Capital Markets (learned investment ops within fixed income and also sat with fixed income traders) with PNC (currently) and a corporate finance role with US Bank last summer. Will this work experience weight me equally in respect to those with higher gpa's in your opinion. I think I'm interested in the big 4 for full-time.
You will have to network to receive an interview if the GPA cutoff is above yours. Your work experience is no different or more impressive than most people who apply for these jobs. I have a few friends who got big 4 interviews without meeting the GPA cutoffs by networking effectively so just make an effort to do so.
