Is Big 4 actually a joke?

I know that the big firms are prestigious too, but why are there so many people trolling/joking about it? Especially Deloitte? As a person who is searching for job options there, I'd love to hear anything regarding consulting firms/industry. Thanks :)

It’s just the prestige ladder. B4 shits on RSM/Proviti/BDO, MBB/IB shits on B4, PE shits on them both, SWEs shits on everyone.

You’re best off not paying attention to it. They’re great firms to be at and are popular choices that will reflect well on your resume. There are better and worse firms for sure, but to the average college grad B4 is a very good outcome.

Basically what the other poster daid.

As for Deloitte specifically, it's because they sometimes try to claim it's not MBB but MBBD, which opens them up for people taking a stab at them for overstepping. By overstepping, I dont mean they're not good enough, I just mean you dont get to decide yourself if you're part of a group. It's the community who does (just like you dont pick your own nickname, people give it to you). Also there had been rumours on and off of Deloitte trying to buy us (Bain), but that never materialised, also dont know if it was ever true.

At b4 you work hours similar to MBB and get much less pay prestige and exit opps than MBB.
But for the average college grad B4 is great
