Is it true that someone who works in management consulting after graduation will have more opportunities than someone who works in econ consulting?
I've interviewed for internships at both management consulting and economic consulting firms, and it seems like MC gives you a more general strategy/business skillset and EC gives you a more quantitative and academic skillset.
I'm interning at an EC firm this summer but am hoping to re-recruit FT for MC. I'm just worried I won't get any MC offers and that my exit opportunities from EC won't be as good, as I don't want to get a JD or PhD.
One of the directors at the EC firm said that most people from the firm go onto top grad schools, and that's just not really up my alley. I may consider an MBA someday but that's obviously off into the future.
So tldr, is it true that people who work in MC have more things they can pursue after EC, as EC isn't really business?
Hey Prospect in Consulting, sorry about the delay, but are any of these useful:
