Would really appreciate if someone could say Happy Birthday to me

Hey guys, ik this is as weird as fuck, but May 11th is my birthday. The past year has been extremely unfriendly and painful, and I don't really know how many times I tried to end my life. And I am still recruiting for IB, still getting rejected everywhere no matter how hard I tried. And yes, today is my birthday, so if someone could say happy birthday to me I would sincerely appreciate it. Best to all of you who r still looking for an intern or job or anything. All the best to y'all:)

man, sometimes it is hard but please don't do anything that is forever. go on a walk, listen to your best songs and think how good it will feel when you will achieve what you are trying to do, and most importantly Happy Birthday, one day you will look back and be proud of what you accomplished since today

Happy Birthday, Brotha! Remember that there is no correlation between your importance and whatever job you get right out of college. Focus on your health and relationships first. Without these, there is no value to an occupation. Keep your head up and take it day by day. Best wishes OP.

My first role out of college was a contract role at a french bank. My colleagues were salaried, getting paid more than me, and got full-time benefits and 30 vacation days. I only got 5 vacation days and a cut-throat team. After that role, I was unemployed for one year and ended up at a credit rating agency, and sadly the culture at this team was brutal. However, I toughed it out, got a promotion on the fast-track and moved into another team were people are like angels.

Why did I write the above? I did that so you can realize life is tough, and finding a job won't be the only tough problem you'll face. If your way to deal with problems is to consider killing yourself, then you have a completely wrong mindset. Learn to appreciate what you have and use your ambition to work harder, but also to focus on your mental health. I used to compare myself to others, and I became much happier when I stopped. Highly recommend you see a therapist to help you develop a better mindset (note that a therapist won't develop it for you, you'll have to work on that yourself). There's a book called Way of the Seal, written by a former Navy Seal that focuses on developing a tough mindset. Please read it!

Happy Birthday Buddy! :). As someone who also struggled with recruiting I can tell you that your hard work will payoff. Keep at it and do take care of yourself man.    A career is important but not more than your mental and physical health. Hope it all works out for you soon!

Happy birthday foreverain!

As other people have mentioned in this thread do reach out for help, you never know how helpful and understanding your friends and family can be. And don't hesitate to even reach out to organisations for help. I can definitely emphasise with you how hard it can be, especially in the current environment but don't give up. I myself applied to every IB I could find during my university days and in the end I landed only a few interviews and not a single offer. Fast forward I ended up in private equity in a spot I am very happy with. In hindsight I am happy that I never got that IB gig, and I have realised that I can find success and happiness in other careers. So don't let these setbacks destroy your life, you are worth more than that and you can achieve your end goal without an IB on your CV.

Please know that the richest people in life started businesses, went from rags to riches, and all it takes is full belief in yourself. Ignore the circumstances, and only envision success for yourself - nothing less. Hey Happy Birthday!! You are much better then you think you are. Nothing is more precious then your happiness and peace. Cut yourself some slack and give yourself a break. Sometimes not landing a job you want is beyond your control. All those who have achieved big things in life were rejected in the start, no matter the world believes you or not YOU SHOULD NOT STOP BELIEVING IN YOURSELF. Ups and downs will are part of life but they only exist to make you better and stronger.

Probably too late since I'm reading this on 16th May but I wanna wish you a belated birthday! Hang in there man. I'm in a similar spot as you, had big dreams to make it in IB but got so many rejections instead. It's not the end and there is so much more to life than a career.
