Is KPMG Financial risk management consulting good?
HI. Is KPMG Financial risk management consulting good? If started as a senior associate in this department, is it possible to move into IBD front office or McKinsey (Management consulting) after one or two years? And what is typical career path for this position? By the way, what is the salary level? Thank you.
stupid to move in to a Big 4.
Tall ambitions, my 2 cents.
yea big 4 prob isn't the way to go.
Better to go straight to IBD if that's your goal.
I'm working in a major IBD's middle office right now. But it's very difficult to get promoted to the front office. The life here is really boring. I heard the financial risk management consulting arm of KPMG mainly focus on bank's consulting. Not sure if this is a good opportunity to learn something more valuable and then move back to IBD's front office. Any advice? Thank you.

FRM at KPMG will be probably very similar to a lot of bank MO positions. From what I know, they mostly price derivatives and illiquid books for banks. If you think you need to move and the Big 4 is the best option, try to get into a valuation or corp fin group.

I interviewed with KPMG's financial risk management group last week as an "experienced hire". I got an e-mail from the recruiter saying that I did well and the group would like to extend me an offer. However, she then said that she needed to build a "business case" for me and have that approved before then can officially send me an offer letter in writing. What exactly is a business case? Does anyone know how long this process typically takes? Thanks!
