Is networking becoming more important?
I've noticed more and more non targets at MBB. I am assuming they networked in? I thought that historical MBB was school prestige plus interview performance with 0 networking. Does anyone have any insight?

MBB has started diversifying its intake of candidates over the past few years. There was the post-Covid boom that led to overhiring. But a lot of the times the candidates at non-targets are involved in top business/consulting organizations on campus and near top of their class.
Incoming MBBer from this years cycle, can totally agree to this. But myself and those close to me who are non-target definitely networked a ton but we’re all involved heavily with our consulting orgs on campus or a had a strong niche that stuck with people
