Laid off - what next?

So as the title suggests, I’ve just been laid off. I joined a startup after 2 years in T2 management consulting. I want to know what my options are right now. I can try to join an T2-3 consulting firm and lateral after the recession is over, or I can try to join a startup for a few months, apply for business school and then network my way back into consulting.

In terms of optics, do you think T1 consulting would prize a brand name startup (e.g. Zocdoc, Peloton) over a T3 consulting firm? I have an offer from EY Consulting in their BI team, is this something I could do for a few years then try to switch to EY-P or do you think that I would be too specialised so it wouldn’t be possible?
