Link to Linkedin on resume
I'm sure that all the screeners and recruiters will give your online presence a once over once you become an important enough candidate. But if you have some solid recommendations from employers, clients, supervisors and co-workers that you want to show off and try and knock the screener's/recruiter's inital perception of you out the park would it be wise to add a link to your linkedin on the resume? or is it just adding more clutter to an already filled page (if you use the standard consulting resume form)?
don't add the clutter, they will look most likely anyway
bankers = old-school = don't get too creative. I would say try to on LinkedIn to see whether there is someone within that firm that one of your connections might know. Ask for an informational, build up rapport and ask to vouch for your candidacy.
Your name and college are enough to bring up a Linkedin page up. It is common for recruiters to google candidates to see if things match up.
In the past, people have converted a sophomore/spring internship into an SA internship at bank X and are now trying to find a better gig at bank Y. HR can always spring up the question about your motivations to apply to bank Y.
I think it's a brilliant idea, particularly if you can also include a link to youtube videos featuring you showing off your ability in the following areas:
Example: see "Vayner, Alexey"
I wouldn't do this. People aren't going to do a deep dive on you unless something on your resume piques their interest. If that ends up being the case, they will not need your linkedin hyperlink to find you.
On another note, I'm not sure that anyone takes LinkedIn recommendations seriously.
If they print your resume and then review it in a pile, how on earth are they supposed to click on a link?
thank you for your post
It depends. If you're a guy, no. If you're girl, are you hot?
LinkedIn link on resume? (Originally Posted: 12/24/2013)
This almost seems like a redundant/obnoxious idea to me but I want potential employers to see me recommendations and endorsements that make me look baller...does anyone do this?
Don't do it. If they're interested they know how to use LinkedIn on their own.
