Long term advice for MBB hopeful

I'm a graduated high college senior getting ready to work at an IT healthcare company and am hoping to get into MC. I did not have my act together in the fall when firms were recruiting and was also at a non-target for finance/MC. Thankfully I got an early admit to HBS so I'll be in the class of 2018 or 2019.

I have a couple of questions. First, I do not have a gmat score but I did score a 170/166 (Q/V) on the GRE, will this be a hinderence in recruiting? Second what can I be doing now to set myself up for success in my future interviews?

Thanks!

Sorry, I meant to say graduated college student. I hope that clarifies the situation although I'm not really sure why people were more interested in determining if I was a troll than giving advice... And yes I was admitted to the 2+2 program. My UG was non target for consulting/finance but still around top 25 by usnews so definitely not a joke.

No- your gmat score won't matter at all if you're applying from HBS (don't even put it on your CV if you're worried about it).

The best things you can do are i) perform well enough to get onto the Dean's list (ii) work as hard as you can to get an internship at a good firm (even if it's not MBB it will help you for full time recruiting) (iii) join the consulting club and find people to practice case studies with

Good luck!

I previously worked for McKinsey in London and have started a blog about consulting and how to get into it at www.theconsultingcoach.com
