Mentioning That You Are Only Interviewing With One Firm

Say you are happy at your current firm, on an exciting project, and doing meaningful work. I know this is an anomaly, but bear with me.

However, you get a rare opportunity to join an even better company focusing on a particular niche you really enjoy (with better comp). When speaking with this new firm, is it beneficial to tell them they are the only firm you are interviewing with? Would it be better to say they are my top choice?

My rationale is that it would show you are more serious about your desire to work there, but I feel like one could lose some of their salary negotiating power.

In the specific situation you mentioned, I think it would be beneficial. You already have negotiating power, as they are trying to hire you away from a company you already work at. This is different from campus recruiting, where your other options are opaque and they may be using your other offers as a proxy for how desirable a candidate you are. Additionally, if this is for a singular experienced role, the firm may place a great deal of importance on filling the role quickly.
