Motivation

I’m a college student considering a career in finance (IB?) or consulting, and I’m trying to figure out if it would be a good fit. I get that you need to live it to know, but what motivates you guys to work those 90 hour weeks and keep going? Would you recommend a college student to go for it?

Money and supposedly faster career progression, which leads to, well, money.

As someone coming from fancily-named research environments, and having grazed one area and then embraced consulting, I found and find both jobs non-intellectually challenging or stimulating. Just grinding, good pay and good pay
