Moving From IB to MBB in 2026?

Currently a recently promoted AN2 at a solid BB IB team in NYC. Been thinking about moving into consulting as I weigh the pros and cons, but not 100% sure where to start/how feasible it might be in the near term without going the MBA route.

Graduated from a consulting target school (think UChicago, NU, Duke, Brown) as a STEM + Econ major, with an OK GPA (3.75), but tested very well (had a perfect SAT score, haven't done GMAT yet).

Does anyone have perspectives on the difficulty of making this pivot in 2026?
