Northwestern to MBB/Consulting
Excited to go to NU. I know people will say it's too early, enjoy rest of HS, so yes, I will not do any casing or networking whatsoever. I'm just curious how NU places into consulting, especially MBB. I know most people go to Chicago offices and seems like NU is the biggest target for Chicago offices even outnumbering UChicago and IU.
If I apply and focus only on Chicago as top choice, is this the move to maximize my probabilities? Want to ask those who went through the process.
Based on the most helpful WSO content, Northwestern has a strong placement into consulting, particularly for Chicago offices. NU is indeed considered a significant target for Chicago-based consulting roles, often outpacing schools like UChicago and IU in terms of representation. Focusing on Chicago as your top choice could be a strategic move, as firms often prioritize candidates with a clear preference for their local offices.
Additionally, networking with alumni and leveraging NU's resources, such as consulting clubs, can further enhance your chances. Many successful candidates start building relationships with alumni early and use these connections to gain insights into the recruiting process. While it's great that you're planning to enjoy the rest of high school, keeping this information in mind for the future will help you prepare effectively when the time comes.
