Officer to Consulting
Hey everyone, longtime lurker here, finally jumping in with my first (I think?) post.
I just graduated from a service academy and will be heading to one of the military’s grad schools to earn a technical master’s in computer engineering and AI. As part of that, I’ll be going back to teach at my alma mater for a bit. In the meantime, I’ll be working as an engineer and project manager while serving.
I’m curious about the typical transition path into consulting for officers. Is pursuing an MBA after separating generally the way to go, or are there routes into top firms that don’t necessarily require another degree? Any insight or firsthand experiences would be much appreciated.
Get an MBA. Don't you owe active duty time?
Yes, I owe 6 years active duty and then I will be able to separate.
