pass no pass grade for MBA and fall recruiting

Hi all,

I hope you guys are having a good week so far. I have a little concern I would like to share with ya'll. I already checked the past threads on this topic, and it seems to me that suggested solutions varied case by case.

I just had a midterm for my corporate tax class. I felt extremely sick and consequently i feel like I performed rather poorly. Tomorrow is the last day to change the grading method (p/np). I already e-mailed the instructor to see where I stand, but chances are he will not answer my inquiry until Monday.

Currently, I have 3.85 and am a rising senior. I wanna be a strong candidate for Fall recruiting, and the last thing I want is a C on my record (or worse a failing grade). It is very possible that I did well on the midterm; that's the worst part. Very likely, I will have to make this decision without knowing my midterm grade.

FYI, midterm is 40% of the grade and the rest final. I know I can do well on his final because I took this individual tax class and got an A.

What would you do if you were me?

Dude they don't check your transcript until after they extend an offer. Absolutely no one cares. If you have the option, it would be retarded not to take the P/NP option.

CartwrightIrrelevant then, and worrying about something that may or may not happen in 3 -5 years is irrelevant now.
Well, I disagree. This track record will follow me until the day I die. So, it is only normal that I am trying to make the most informed decision

wow, overdramatic much? you are a fetus, your disagreement is as irrelevant as your pass/fail

...when i was your age i was a political science major, 100% going to law school, and going to be a lawyer and kill people for money. 6 years later im in business school and headed into investment banking.

pretty sure i took accounting pass/fail and got a C in finance...i was already accepted to law school, it was my last semester and i didnt care...and you know you what, no one else has cared either.

so calm the fuck down and enjoy college.

A P/NP on a transcript looks far less suspicious than a W. You can explain the one, but the other automatically means you had to pull out because you thought it would be so bad you didn't want anyone to see it.

I am permanently behind on PMs, it's not personal.

I am just stating a fact. It is called permanent record for a reason?

and comments like ^ would have wasted less of your and my time.

All I wanted to know was the implication of having p/np so I can make the most informed decision.

Yes, I am a fetus, don't know how this is going to affect me, and posted a thread to learn.

Sorry, I hurt your adult pride and made you waste your credits

I actually didnt shit on you, as I save those for special occasions. I've told you the implication. There is none.

What is this permanent record nonsense? Sounds like a Saved by the Bell episode.

Yes, maybe if you are recruiting for an accounting or finance position in the next 6 months, and they happened to ask your grades in individual classes, they would inquire regarding the pass/fail...but after that it.does.not.matter.

But you seem to have already made up your mind that it does matter and will follow you for the rest of your life, so do whatever you want. I'm sure there is some online gaming community missing a member, so get on it.
