pwc management consulting vs. EY-P strategy consulting

Hi all, I have offers from pwc management consulting and ey-p strategy consulting but am unsure which one to choose.. I want to use it as a bridge to help me break into IB (i know, i should do an ib internship but tough times..) and i am not sure which one can help me better

this is a dumb question but what are the differences between the management consulting and strategy consulting? they are both quite vaguely defined/explained on their websites/during my interviews

I would really appreciate it if you can offer me some insights and advice!! thank you so much

EY- P no question.

It would be a comparable if you had an offer from Strategy& and EY-P.

Strategy consulting is harder to break into, pays more, has better exit opps, but you will potentially work more.

You don’t really have any reason to pick PwC MC over EY-Parthenon as your first gig.

I’ve heard that transitioning from Big 4 management consulting to a strategy arm is usually pretty hard (Usually with a top MBA thrown in the middle).

Current intern at a B4 Strategy Arm, btw.

Hey there ,assuming this is legacy ey-p and non strategy& pwc, definitely go ey-p. Better brand , get to work on a lot of diligences, etc. Note that my info is also US based so answer could * potentially * differ in other geographies. It’s also worth mentioning that ey-p is in a transitionary phase, where many legacy Parthenon people are worried about the Parthenon umbrella disappearing / brand dilution from restructuring (not saying whether this is a fair concern or not , rather that it is something people are thinking about)

I should also say that as you probably know , IB is going to be a tough sell (saying this as an American former intern at a T2 firm who considered IB). I’d definitely focus that energy on breaking into MBB.

thank you so much for the info! I am based in europe, my plan is to take this consulting gig and then do something in the summer related to IB. In terms of breaking into MBB, how tough is it because i heard ey and pwc consulting are considered as a tier 3 consulting firm :(
