Rejected for Full-Time, reapplying as a Summer intern? (MBB)

Hello all,

I applied to one of the MBB last fall for a full-time position and made it to the final round of interviewing, but was ultimately rejected, the feedback being that I could have done better on one of my case interviews.

Due to a number of reasons, I will be pursuing a masters degree after I graduate this spring and am thinking of applying for a summer internship with the same firm (for the period before I start my masters).

Having been rejected from a full-time position last fall, would it be alright to apply for summer? I understand that some firms have a 'black-out' period where you can't apply for a period of tie after you've been rejected. I kept in contact with one of my interviewers from the final round - would you recommend going through her to ask about this? Or HR?

Advice is much appreciated.

EnricoPaallazzo - I've approached HR, seems like this is no problem to apply. Thank you for the advice, I am definitely considering other firms in the meantime.

2x2Matrix - Thank you for your advice! I talked to HR, seems like the black-out won't be a problem even as the HR lady calls it a 'highly unusual situation'. She said the same thing as you, that the other way, SA rejection -> FT round is no problem. I'll give it a shot and see what happens. Appreciate your comment.
