Several internships in Asia, want to work in the US (Bay area, or LA to be exact)
Hello monkeys, I need some career guidance.
I am a student at a semi-target (top 20 in the world, more known for STEM, medical, and law school) studying econ and math with a very low gpa; will graduate in 2015 January with 3.1~ gpa. Although my school is known for very harsh gpa deflation (avg graduating gpa of 2.7~3.1) I would assume this is a huge minus as I wish to pursue a FT job in the consulting field.
I have had several internships in Asia.
1. HR Strategy intern at a Fortune 100 company
2. Audits season intern at PwC
3. Management Consulting intern at Accenture
I attend school in NA and I would like to start my FT career in either the bay area or the LA region.
what can i do to make myself more comfortable among the UCB, Stanford, CMC, Pomona grads?
If you want consulting you should definitely choose option 3. That said, getting hired by a U.S. office from a non-U.S. university is going to be an uphill battle (especially if you are not a U.S. citizen) (honestly I did not quite understand is you are studying in the U.S. or not).
Hey!
sorry i was not so clear, been in the office for a while and losing grasp here.
I have completed all those three internships. (well, in progress at Accenture 1/3 done hooray) I am a Candian citizen with asian background, and I attend a target school in Canada but my family's connections and wealth is all concentrated in Asia, thus I am interning in Asia thanks to connections; however, I would kill myself and get a job at mcdonalds before working here probably...
