Should I try for MBB with a 3.5?

Hi all, I'm going to be a senior a semi target university (CMU) but my gpa is only 3.5. Should I try for MBB at all by networking to get an interview or just aim for Tier 2 firms?

Thanks!!

ar1693.54-its not a target though BCG last year had a 3.5 threshold for our on-campus recruiting interviews

So... BCG had a 3.5 minimum for your OCR interviews last year... You have a 3.54 GPA... 3.54 > 3.5... Is there a trick question in here somewhere that I'm missing? You are above the threshold, so you check the box. The question is what do you do outside of class that'll differentiate you from the rest of your class.

3.5 in engineering = if (olympian || crazy research || crazy experience || daddy is a big client etc.) then have a shot else Deloitte(JK)

>3.5 in engineering = kosher

>3.8 in engineering = probably help you

>3.9 in engineering = pretty damn impressive

*assuming you go to a target/semi-target. Basically unless if you have something really crazy going for you, the lower your GPA goes below 3.5, the more it hurts your chances (rate > 1)
