Sponsored MPP from MBB
Hello folks, Ill be joining MBB this fall and since I already have a graduate degree in business, I will be very interested in getting a sponsored MPP a few years down the line. My long term plans include international development and government. I just wanted to ask, do MBB typically sponsor MPPs? WHich MPPs are acceptable; ill be looking at Harvard, Columbia, Berkely, Oxford. Also does anyone know someone who is sponsored to these programs. Note that I'm not referring to dual degrees.
Thanks a bunch
Editing my response for clarity. My response just centered around an employee in the U.S., so I don't think it is really pertinent, as this seems to be a EU/UK thing.
On the other hand, I've heard of people getting non-MBA's comped (up to 2 years). I would guess it's a case by case thing to some extent. Ask your firm?
Not gonna happen, unfortunately.
Totally wrong. It does happen and is not that rare. Close friend of mine is now being sponsored for MPP at a top UK uni, heard of many more cases.
US vs Europe difference perhaps. Assumed OP was in US because of the listed schools.
Also, don't forget OP already has a graduate degree. Why would the firm pay for him to get another one?
Is it possible to state the school, and is the person at MBB?
I'm at an MBB, and I know someone who is doing a sponsored (not comped!) MPP. It happens.
Did they already have a graduate degree?
I had a few friends from MBB doing MPA at Columbia instead of MBA - you can find them on LinkedIn ;)
