Strategy Consulting in Construction/Real Estate

I am a construction grad and have plenty of experience in the construction industry. Recently, I got admitted to University of Michigan(Ross) for their part-time MBA program and I am interested in pivoting in strategy consulting roles primarily in the construction/real estate sector. I am aware there are a few companies which are into strategy consulting in the construction sector however, I am curious to know what the pay is like. Specifically, do MBA associates' salaries vary based on their sectors they choose to opt or do all of them start with the same associate base pay regardless of the sector they intend on choosing or the inclination that they show to the employer? I am aware that MBB has the 1st year associates break into specific sectors only after 1 year but is that true for other strategy consulting firms as well?

Also what is the pay like for construction/real estate strategy consulting roles? Would my background in construction inhibit me from choosing other consulting sectors such as retail, CPG or M&A? Need some solid advice.
