University of Oxford vs NYU STERN
Good evening,
I got accepted at both Oxford and NYU Stern undergraduate. I have no preference for job location cause first I will complete my post graduation (MBA) from USA, both schools are elite but which is best for undergraduation, and visa is not a problem.
Which school should I go with?
Why get an MBA if you can land your dream job? Either of those school's will get you the recruiting opportunities that you want (so long as you are top of your class).
Going to mba will increase my salary.
I hope this is a troll. This is a terrible way of looking at it. The increase in pay is negligible when you consider that you’ll have to spend ~$200k extra for an MBA and the opportunity cost.
I'd say Oxford is, overall, more elite. But If you are interested in finance, Stern might be the better choice.

oxford baby
Oxford is more prestigious overall but it also depends on where you want to work. If it’s in Europe, then go to Oxford, if it’s in the US, go to Stern. If you’re location-agnostic, then Oxford
Oxford, naturally.
Not just the prestige; Oxford provides a unique learning environment that you will struggle to find anywhere else. The collegiate system gives a very familiar feeling and the city is just a wonderful magical place to study.
I attended Cambridge for my PhD, where the experience is identical - so I am biased towards that, but I would not trade it with just about anything (except Harvard of course)
Is this a joke? Oxford all the way. The only school I would consider over Oxford would be Harvard or Stanford. NYU Stern isn't even comparable.
And this is coming from someone who goes to a good undergrad b-school in the States.
Oxford and I'm not even really sure why you'd consider Stern unless you are dead set on not working in Europe (but then why apply?)
Oxbridge is almost like HYPS level of prestige and opportunities. Stern is not a bad school, don't get me wrong, but we're not even talking about the same league here...
Yes recruiting for wall street jobs in the US will be easier at Stern, but this isn't just about your first job or internship, it's about the lifetime benefit of the Oxford education and network.
Plus you can always transfer, and it will be a lot easier to transfer up to a better US school from Oxford.
What about oxford vs wharton under
What about oxford vs wharton undergraduate
Just my opinion here but I'd say Wharton undergrad and Oxbridge are about the same level of prestige.
One wrinkle here is that Wharton is incredibly competitive. All the wannabe banker and consultants since age 4 are competing for the same number of slots.
Yes Oxford is competitive too, but say for example you recruit from Ox to jobs on the street in the US, there's a smaller likely less competitive pool of applicants.
And the Oxford brand is better than non-Wharton Upenn so if you decide in year 2 you want to get a Poli Sci PhD or something all else equal you'd probably rather be at Oxbridge than Penn.
The college town at Oxford is way fucking better than Philly I'll say that. But again others may disagree depends what you're looking for.
But really you can't go wrong with either, honestly. Plenty of arguments you could make for either one so it's not clear to me one is superior to the other.
