Verbal offer for promotion
I'm looking for some guidance on this topic... I was given a verbal offer. This promotion is to replace an existing employee who by the way already gave in their notice of resignation. Although I was given verbal assurance, I'm told that the company cannot write me an offer until HR approves the application of a 'head count' replacement. I'm also told that HR can take several months after a person leaves before approving their head-count replacement. What should I do? How long should I expect to wait before looking elsewhere?
Hey goldenblade5600, I think you deserve a response...heck, everyone does. We're listening, sorry about the delay ...my best guess at places on WSO that could help:
