what are the chances..

What are the chances that I'll get a consulting job if I graduate from Georgia Tech with a management degree/finance concentration and a 3.4 gpa? highly unlikely? possible but good luck? To give you more insight, I'm transferring from KSU and Ga tech seems to put only the Tech gpa on their transcript, so is it more likely that most firms will ask for both transcripts? or do you think I'd be able to get away with just putting my tech gpa(assuming that I'll do very well once I do transfer)?

tbcthkI am a GT alum...Join the UCC. And keep networking. MBB, Deloitte, Accenture all recruit there. Many of my friends ended up at those places.

Oh nice! sorry to sound like a newb but what is the UCC? I haven't transfered there yet so I'm not sure what club that is. And also, do you think it'd hurt my chances that i'm majoring in management w/finance concentration vs. industrial engineering. I'm well aware of the fact that 40% of their IE majors go into consulting but not so sure about my major. And last question...sorry about the overload :).... do IB recruit at Tech? and if not, how do my chances look? Thanks a bunch

UCC is the undergraduate consulting club. You need to apply with resume and go through an interview to get in. I know - but they like to keep it small so it seems more prestigious.

Majoring in MGT is fine. I was an IE but as long as you keep your grades up you will be ok. I know a girl who majored in MGT got into Bain.

IB doesn't recruit at tech. It's kinda hard to say what your chances are because it comes down to the people you know and how good you interview. Case study is always a bitch. So make sure you practice them with friends.
