What's the best consulting interview prep book for McKinsey
I have a first round phone interview, but I've only done banking interviews thus far. What can I expect and what is the best guide book to get in order to help me prepare??
Anyone ever used the WSO one? I used the M&I one for banking and it was great. Anyone like that for consulting?

I'm especially worried about the brain teasers...are they still very common nowadays? what's a good book for brain teaser prep?

Not sure about consulting interviews in particular, but for brain teasers "Heard on the Street" by Timothy Falcon Crack is a good one. (There should be pdf versions floating around)

MBB don't really give brain teasers; the closest thing that I encountered were market sizing questions (and a lot of them) as part of cases. A lot of boutiques do ask them, though. What worked well for me was going to GlassDoor and looking through the posted interview questions for the firm I was interviewing at, as these give a sense of how brain teaser-ish they can be and also give you some practice material.

I was wondering if anybody had any recommendations in terms of case interview preparation materials. Specifically, pre-written cases that I can use to practice with a partner. I know about LOMS and all the different books out there, but I find most of them do not have well written partner cases to practice with. Everybody says live practice is the best, but I'm just having trouble finding cases to have people practice with me on! Does anybody have any recommendations to case databases? Or any other resources like that. Thanks guys! :)
Also, does anybody have experience with Management Consulted's resources? (their case bank and their 3 bibles) Any insight would be appreciated as I may be interested in investing in them. Thanks!

What are the good sources to prepare for consulting internship and interviews?
Background: I will be starting FT MBA at an M7 school this fall.
Also, how difficult/easy is it to go from Consulting to IB or vice versa?
Source: I know tons of people who went to MBB or 2nd tier (think OW) consulting firms out of undergrad and, while I ended up going the finance route, interviewed for some consulting positions and thus went through my fair share of case interviews. These are the two best case interview books:

"Case in Point" by Marc P Cosentino
Practice, practice, practice cases. Have you friends in consulting give you mock case interviews. Perfect your strategy for those. That's the best possible thing you can do for those interviews, in addition to perfecting your answers to the "why consulting" questions. As far as going from consulting to IB or vice versa, I would not know as much about this specifically as other monkeys on here.

Consulting/IB direct switch is pretty atypical. Usually need to transition via MBA.
Thanks for the reply. I understand that and I will be getting my MBA. I was wondering whether the skills are transferable to some extent if lets say I work in consulting (or IB) for some years after MBA and then switch to IB (or consulting).
It's much easier to transition from IB to MBB rather than the other way around. MBB to IB is not unheard of, it's just much more difficult.
