When are MBBs beginning full time recruitment? How much time should I spend networking?

I'm a target school rising senior with an internship in a top division at GS/JPM/MS. I'm considering applying for consulting full time as I am not certain what I want between consulting/banking and I do not have a guaranteed full time offer from GS/JPM/MS. I know when McKinsey is beginning recruitment, but I don't have information on Bain or BCG. Does anyone have this information? I had spreadsheets for every bulge bank for networking for banking recruiting, should I take a similar approach to networking for MBB Consulting? Especially given the guaranteed full time offers to interns, I am wondering if more networking than usual is warranted this year. Also, I had a McKinsey interview for a summer internship, but turned it down politely as I had already accepted my GS/JPM/MS offer. Should I be concerned about that affecting my chances with McKinsey?

If you turned McK down politely, I see no reason why that would lower your chances recruiting with them in the future. I wouldn't worry about it.

I'm also interested in consulting FT - I'm pretty sure Bain and BCG are yet to begin their processes but not sure when they will in all honesty. When is McK starting?

You don’t have to network nearly as much as you did for IB recruiting. Around 2 contacts at each firm and a 15 minute phone call with each is more than enough, but based your background you might not need any at all. Your point about the automatic offers and the potentially higher importance for networking could turn out to be true, but even if that’s the case it‘ll only get you the interview. Spending time preparing for the case and fit (especially for McKinsey) will be more valuable than collecting contacts at each firm. I wouldn’t worry about declining the McKinsey interview invite. Your reason was legitimate and respectable.

1) Getting on the interview shortlist. There is a small chance it gets you a referral or on some list of candidates who have shown interest. There is also a chance this leads to an introduction to someone who makes the interview shortlist (recruiters and/or office recruiting leads depending on the firm). 2) Interview. Your convos can provide talking points for why you’re interested in consulting, that firm, a specific office, etc

When is McK recruiting starting? I missed the info sessions the other week
