Why does Accenture Pay so High Compared to MBB

How does Accenture pay so high when compared to other Major Management consulting firms like Bain, Mckinsey, Oliver Wyman etc... Accenture starting salary for entry level individuals is roughly 85k in major cities. I have heard the work at Accenture is not even strategy or as involved as those at other top firms are, so how does Accenture pay roughly the same as these firms?

  1. Why did you put this in the Equity Research forum?
  2. Accenture pays equal or slightly below MBB. https://managementconsulted.com/consulting-salaries/consulting-salaries…

Accenture is a massive organization and does do strategy. One of the reasons to hire Accenture is they market their end to end capabilities, from the strategy through implementation. However, like you are implying, they are less known for the strategy piece.

The tier 2 strategy firms, accenture included, are competing against MBB for talent. And the implementation firms, e.g. the Big 4 (and their former spinoffs) aren't that far behind in pay anyways (~80k).

Base is 85k at McKinsey and Bain and 90k at BCG for post-undergrad position. Plus a 10k-15k bonus. Salary is relatively even at this level. Post-MBA level the difference is larger and MBB pays more. The level after this MBB pays much more.

quite interesting to see salary levels of you guys in the states. In Continental Europe its somewhere along ~75k all in for MBB and ~45k all in for Accenture, maybe 50 for the strategy team (all in Euros obliviously).
