Work/ life

I'm really stressed about life in consulting- hoping someone can provide reassurance.

I'm starting work soon and all of my friends are in LT relationships. This might sound stupid, but I'm really scared I'll be so busy working that I won't find someone.

Getting married and having kids is important to me, but I haven't found anyone serious yet at uni, and given work hours in consulting firms I'm terrified I won't have time to find anyone either.

If it makes you feel better, once you start work, none of your friends will be in LT relationships anymore

Bro I'm in the same boat as you.  Senior, starting at MBB soon, no serious relationship, a little worried about the future with regards to that.  Just know that we are young so there's a lot of time! Also, as above posters have said, consulting is not always a long-term career; you could be very well doing something completely different in 2-3 years.

And honestly consulting work life balance isn't horrible because we got the weekends to go out and meet people.  Unlike IB where you're always 'on,' consultants are typically logged out of work from Friday at 5PM-Monday mornings.  It's definitely tough during the week though.
