Apple Finance

I am looking for advice to leverage a connection I have at Apple. At a conference last month I met some Apple finance guys recruiting for their finance development program. I am currently a senior and was told that they are only recruiting for interns but after talking with one for a while they asked to see my resume and gave me a first round interview. The interview at the conference was mainly a like a referral and if they liked you they pass you along to the recruiter and the process goes from there if the recruiter sees you as a fit.

Interview went well and after the interview I emailed the manager I had an interview with the usual stuff and he responded saying he would pass my resume along and still keep me in mind for full time positions closer to my graduation date. I was already planning to check in with him via email every few months so he remembers me and I have a good contact at Apple.

I currently have a Big 4 Audit offer that expires in about 2 weeks. I was planning on sending an email to the manager mentioning I currently have an outstanding offer but am still more interested in Apple and then asking again about the status of my application. My end goal is to either get into the FDP or at least into the corporate finance group the manager works after graduation.

Does anyone have any advice as to how to approach this or is my plan about all I can do at this point?
