B4 CF

Hi all,

I would like to ask something which I guess many of you will be able to answer: How difficult is it to transit from other line of service to the CF area within the B4? What do you think is the most important to have? Transferable skills, qualifications (CFA, Msc Fin, etc.), networking...?

Any thoughts are more than welcome!

I honestly have no idea, though I've heard if you're a top performer at the Big 4, most of them try and get you where you want to be.

Yeah, but I guess that's true for whichever job... If you're a top performer you will end up moving wherever you want (most likely).

The thing is what are TAS/CF/Valuations departments at the B4 looking for? What do they like from a guy with a background in Audit? Because I know that many people manage to switch from Audit to this areas and I don't really see the transf skills, apart from the obvious strong accounting knowledge.

Cheers

Someone that's willing to work their ass off and has a top performance record is what they for. That's all I've heard anyways.

Definitely more difficult than most B4 groups. Generally, CF only hires those with former IB experience once you get to the associate level. Moving internally directly from audit is rare without TAS/BV experience. Although the work is wildly different between TAS/BV and CF, there are enough transferable skills and fundamental knowledge to move internally.
