Big 4 Valuations/FDD

I recently secured an associate role in a Big 4 transactions team (FDD), and have a few questions: - In terms of exit opps to buy-side, would TS or Valuations be a better option 2-3 years down the line? I understand valuations can involve a bit more technical work (modelling etc), and may look to try jump ship into the valuations team after a year or so and then move out. - How stable are jobs in TS/Valuations during an economic downturn/recession? Valuations, from what I understand has a lot of financial reporting/regulatory work which would still be necessary in another recession, however TS is very heavily focused on M&A activity, which would be impacted during a recession. Please correct me if i am wrong.

Thanks all.
