Citi avp salary in TTS
Hey Everyone,
Did anyone received their bonuses and bump in pay for C12 AVP after completing a year on the job? I only received 4% increase and 8k bonus which brings my full comp to be 122k a year. Does this sounds legit or did I get short changed in the TTS FO NAM business risk and control.
Thanks for your response.

Total YoE after UG and total years at Citi?
Been in the bank for 1 year but been carrying the team. I feel shafted or short changed for my role... been in an associate for 3 years in other banks
So total 4 yoe? Thats solid money for back office. But if you are in VHCOL, you can look for up to maybe $30k more in total comp in similar job functions.
I also thought TTS was a front office department, or at least a quasi-FO one. Apparently not, damn.
Guys, there is only one office = front office.
Everything else (MO, FO support, etc etc) is bullshit made up by people who are 1) trying to break into and relate to FO or 2) way too obsessed with the office labeling cuz of insecurity. Almost nobody in actual FO even talk about "front office this and that". If you want to pursue IB/PE/HF roles, great, pursue them. And if that's the purpose, nobody on the hiring side cares about these fake offices, they only want to hear about your experiences and potential. When ppl hear anyone say the word "middle office" during any interview = 🤦♀️
I mean I literally thought TTS was a client facing division. I agree that the FO/MO/BO thing is not well-defined and basically just refers to compensation bands. But there is a lot of stuff out there (on the markets side anyway, probably less true in IBD) that kind of straddles the line. Front office quants and in-business risk are two examples. A lot of front office quants are basically support and never talk to clients and have no direct P&L link but their pay is closer to sales/trading than it is to operations or independent risk.
I think your statement is very IBD focused where the lines are extremely clear and applies less in other parts of the bank.
For example I work in in-business risk. Am I FO? I dunno. I talk to clients sometimes, I get paid less than traders but more than equity research, it's just not that clear.
TTS is literally Citi’s most consistent moneymaker. The money-making roles within TTS are absolutely FO, but this man is on the R&C side (cost center).
I see. "TTS FO NAM business risk and control" was kind of a word salad and I kind of glossed over the "risk and control".
Thanks for the feedback. This is my first time being in In business risk and control the MD said its a front office job but the pay was complete poop.
